Country Decorating Tips & Ideas - Country Style Home Decor
Welcome to Country Style Home “Tips & Ideas”!

One of the great things about country decorating is how it lends itself so well to re-decorating. You can quickly and effortlessly turn a wall hanging into a table piece, or take a quilt and turn it into a beautiful wall hanging that brings warmth and history to an area. Scented candles can be used as accent pieces practically anywhere. Just place them on a rustic candle tray and wrap some pip berry garland around each candle. Even more permanent country decorating can be re-arranged to create a different look and feel, while maintaining the same “country decor” feel. For example, let’s talk about shelves. You wouldn’t want to constantly be moving a shelf around your home but the effort level involved with replacing the things “on” the shelf is very low. I like to switch out country style plates with beautiful (yet simple) artwork on them with framed pictures. Many of my shelves have a quilt holder built on it, so I find myself swapping out quilts from time to time as well. I’ve also found that with country decorating, sometimes larger pieces look very natural in smaller areas. A large barn star looks right at home in a country style dining room or kitchen. I even change around half burned scented candles by putting them in a primitive looking bowl partially filled with natural potpourri. This not only looks great, but it also smells great and breathes new life into a candle. I have stuffed plush (primitive looking pillows) on shelves that I can easily “re-purpose” as different needs arise. Country decorating can be a very dynamic decorating style. Although the “theme” is constant, the methodology by which it is presented can vary greatly. I hope you find these country decorating tips & ideas helpful. If they do nothing else but give you new ideas of your own, this section has served you well. |

Affordable
home accents that will warm up any space. That’s right, this
one can be used virtually anywhere in your home that needs a little something
added for detail. Let’s talk scented candles with a touch of adorable country
style! It’s so easy to make, and adds more then you might think to the largest (or
smallest) of spaces.
Here’s what you do:
First, you need a scented candle (I
typically use a big one, but any size will work, as long as you like it).
Then you need a pip berry wreath –
something that matches the color tones of the scented candle or ties in the
space with the scented candle. You will then simply place the wreath facing
upward onto whatever flat surface you are adding this to (table, shelf, mantel,
desk, etc…), and put the scented candle in the center of the pip berry wreath.
There you have it – a beautiful accent for any space! I like using scented
candles because I like to burn them from time to time (when the kids are away),
plus - quality scented candles smell good even when they are not burning.
